Praise the Lord everyone! What is on my heart this month? Well we
had a great 4 day Revival! It was so fun, exciting, and energizing! We
had so many new people come out to our church, in fact the last night
we had 83 in attendance...we had people coming from all over to join
us! Loved the music, the worship, the praise, the prayer, the healings,
the deliverances, the encouragement..etc...but now that the Revival is
over…now what? A few people have asked me, “what do I do now?”
Let me encourage you, your not the first one to ask it, and you most
likely will not be the last. When revival ends, we kind go through of
time of sharing with others about it, talking about what were the high-
lights to you individually, and re-accounting the whole experience as a
whole. And this is a truth I would like to add here, REVIVALS ARE EX-
PERIENCES! It truly is a unique part of the calling of a “TRUE” Evangel-
ist, to usher in the spirit for others to experience it. Granted it is just
them, being them, being true to their calling and walking in their gifts. I
was very encouraged to be there each night, as I able to witness Josiah
move in his gifts, and in his calling…(it really blessed me). In fact I was
able to encourage him each night, and help him as a young man, (only
23) grow in his confidence. (he was very humble and appreciative).
So the question…after Revival, Now What?
Now that the revival meetings are over, you and I need to answer
some key questions...
What impact have the services had upon my life?
What specific directions has the Holy Spirit given for me to follow?
What specific actions do I need to carry out in order to fulfill the direc-
tions that God has given me?
What do I need to do in order to fuel my renewed love for Christ and
passion for his mission?
The word of God has some pointers for us that will
not only help continue the effects of the reignite ser-
vices, but can also help the results of those services
to grow in intensity. Throughout history, the revival
of God's people also ignited spiritual awakening
within great populations of lost individuals.
GET SERIOUS ABOUT GOD'S WORD.
Acts 2:42a (NLT)
All the believers devoted themselves to the apos-
tles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in
meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
A— Pay attention to what God has said.
1. Listen carefully to scriptural teaching and seek to
actively apply it to your life.
2. Your spirit has been awakened in revival, do not
put it back to sleep!
B— Persevere in applying it to your life.
1. Seek to make specific application to your life.
2. This is where real life change begins.
James 1:22–24 (NKJV)
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a
doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a
mirror;
24for he observes himself, goes away, and immedi-
ately forgets what kind of man he was.
C—Promote personal readiness in living out God's
word.
GROW IN FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER GROW-
ING CHRISTIANS.
Acts 2:42 (NKJV)
42And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’
doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread,
and in prayers.
A — Seek to form relationships with other commit-
ted Christians.
1. Close fellowship among believers was vital in the
early church.
2. Christians who desire to grow in their commit-
ment to Christ and his mission need to unite in
close fellowship. This will help us keep the fires
of our love for Christ alive and our passion for his
mission intact.
3. Seek to deepen the level of fellowship with other
committed Christians.
4. The deepening of fellowship requires that we
become more involved in each other's lives.
I always feel with revival, we gain ground in our
lives, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Re-
vival brings us together, the challenge is after re-
vival...is to keep that togetherness. (the early church
called it fellowship) or making occasions of coming
together and meeting together. My word of advice,
invite someone over, ask someone out to lunch after
services, make occasions for times for fellowship.
These moments can be so encouraging when greater
unity grows and God’s people want to be with each
other more and more. (Especially when away from
church on a Sunday) I believe that there are 4 “F’s”
needed for spiritual growth. Faith, Food, Fun, and
Fellowship. These are so essential, and they are the
same for every saint of God that calls themselves a
Christian. So with your personal revival experience,
keep the ground you gained...and keep your revival
fires lit!
